"Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still."

- Dorothea Lange

Bio

High school is when I discovered photography, it sparked an element of joy, and creativity within myself. Back then, the darkroom was magic, seeing the photograph appear in the tub of water. As I developed in age and experience, and during my education in post secondary school with two degrees in photography with honours, my passion shifted. It wasn't just about the image being created in the darkroom anymore; it was about capturing moments in peoples lives that I thought were beautiful. It's been over 20 years in the industry since my formal education and it's turned my passion into my career path and life's journey.

I feel that my outgoing personality helps my clients feel at ease when they are being photographed. Being a mother of two kids myself, and working around children and babies for years, has given me an advantage to understanding children's behaviours and infant comfort while being in front of the camera too. My passion is now producing my best photography work for my clients, while enjoying every minute of it.

Following are some details about my personal life outside of photography. I have a love for the outdoors; camping, swimming, hiking, and visiting waterfalls, these are some of my favourite things to do. I also love to cook, bake, sew, paint, scalp and make crafts. I found the love of my life 17 years ago. He and I have added a son and daughter to our family bliss. We are new to our home in Elderbank, Nova Scotia and are loving the beautiful country side. These are some details of the people and things that I love and enjoy, but to take a peek into my soul, I would have to say I truly love life and it shows in my work. This is the root of Lifestone Photography, the love of capturing the present moment that people are living, and making it into art, because life can hold such beauty.
